Dawn Johnson Psychology
Therapy, supervision, training and workshops rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Hello and Welcome!
My name is Dawn, I work as a clinical psychologist and ACT practitioner. Helping people get more out of life and work is what I love to do (alongside cold water swimming and walks with my collie!), and I’m excited to talk to you about:
Getting unstuck and moving towards more of what you want in life
Supporting your team or organisation in their emotional health and professional development
Developing your professional practice through ACT training and supervision

Dawn’s kindness and how safe she made me feel enabled me to explore and work through some difficult, painful issues. I’d been going in circles for so long, talking to friends and family, but not moving on or changing anything. However, after just one session with Dawn I had a huge shift in perspective that resulted in me facing a situation and person that I’d been avoiding for a long time. Anxieties that had me rigid and frozen previously became manageable and I was able to make different choices which felt amazing. Life changing!
If I had to encapsulate Dawn’s training style in one word, it would have to be ‘generous’. She shares personal examples in such a human way, bringing theory to life. She models what she talks about, making it easier for us trainees to try out new skills. And she answers every question with generous, honest, personal insight. She really knows her stuff, and that comes out in how she trains, not just the content of what she delivers. I feel buzzy and excited about my work, and I will definitely be back for more training.

Clinical Psychologist and ACT practitioner
I work as a clinical psychologist, author, speaker, and trainer. All of my work is about helping people live life with more kindness and purpose. I draw on the practical approaches of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT practitioner) to help you tune into what’s important for your life and work, and move with an abundance of compassion towards it.
Even when it’s scary . . .
